Currently seeking a Project Manager to add to a Global Supply Chain Initiative in the Dry Bulk Warehouse & Packaging space with a current client of ours.
This individual will be responsible for global strategic growth projects within the petrochemical industry. This person will play a critical role in defining and executing the supply chain and logistics strategy for various projects. This Project Manager will be accountable for developing and implementing the supply chain and logistics capabilities required to enable global sales from greenfield projects, and optimizing capabilities' design for cost, customer service and working capital.
Lead the development and implementation of logistics and supply chain capabilities per project milestones and metrics to enable sales to global clients. Develop and execute project plans including the development of project resource and allocation plans.
Develop and implement logistics and supply chain processes (e.G. Warehousing, international trade compliance, planning), policies and procedures including those with third party logistics providers for operational excellence
Define requirements and lead the integration of company' s SAP ERP system with third party logistics provider systems. Develop and set-up SAP master data as it relates to area of responsibility.
Lead planning, coordination and execution of testing and trials validating effectiveness of logistics and supply chain capabilities (including SAP system capabilities) prior to go-live. Own resolution of issues discovered during testing and trials.
Develop and implement KPI' s and operational dashboards and establish reporting processes with third party logistics providers.
Lead internal and external benchmarking to identify best practices as it relates to areas of responsibility.
Present project plans, updates and recommendations to senior management stakeholders for buy-in and alignment.
Develop project risk assessments as it relates to areas of responsibility and identify and implement mitigation plans.
Logistics Network Design:
Design / optimize logistics networks through modeling balancing total cost to serve, service (cycle time and on-time delivery reliability), and inventory working capital.
Lead implementation of new network designs.
Warehousing / Repack Facilities:
Own the identification and implementation of third party repack and warehouse suppliers / facilities.
Define third party repack / warehouse facility requirements, develop technical / operational statements of work and secure facilities. Develop sourcing strategies and lead Request for Information (RFI) and Request For Proposal (RFP) generation and execution, bid evaluation plan development and execution, and services agreement development, negotiation and execution in collaboration with Logistics Sourcing team.
Lead planning, coordination and execution of EHSS assessments and qualification of third-party logistics provider facilities in conjunction with company' s Global EHSS team.
Develop petrochemical manufacturing site warehouse and packaging infrastructure and facilities technical design requirements, standards and basis for 3rd Party design, build, operate and maintain agreements. Develop operations standards, procedures, processes, policies and requirements.
Define and lead the implementation of logistics and supply chain requirements and capabilities for export sales including transportation / freight, logistics assets, freight forwarding, documentation and trade compliance. Assist Logistics Sourcing team with negotiations, amending current and/or executing new contracts, and securing third party logistics provider services.
Develop and implement container pool management processes with third party logistics providers. Determine container pool size requirements and implement for export sales.
Education & Training:
Bachelor' s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Management
10+ years' work experience in Supply Chain / Manufacturing, of which more than 5 years Supply Chain experience in the Petrochemical industry
At least 5 years Supply Chain logistics operations experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably as a shipper, in warehousing / distribution, and in international trade compliance and ocean transport of high-volume commodity plastic resins
Demonstrated project management and change management experience, and ability to lead and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, mobilize resources, and gain commitment at all levels in a complex matrix' s environment
Proven leadership in a Supply Chain and Logistics operations environment
Logistics network modeling and analysis (cost, service, inventory working capital)
Logistics / Transportation service provider sourcing and contracting
Packaging and trans loading of high volume, commodity type dry goods
Preferably certified in Project Management (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, Supply Chain (APICS)
