    Summary

    Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for performing professional HR-related duties while working closely with employees, members of the human resources and management team in supporting the operational needs of the organization. This position has a strong focus on recruitment/onboarding but also carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance and benefits administration.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential duties may vary according to region, division, area, and/or assignment. Other duties may be assigned.
    1. Conducts full cycle recruiting for all levels of exempt and non-exempt employees, interns, externs, and temporary employees including screening, interviewing and recruiting applicants, conducting new-employee orientations interns, and contingent workforce.     Responsibilities:
    • Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for providing customer and technical support for a broad range of installed systems including basic to complex systems.
    • Primary areas of responsibility would be at refineries.
    • Services and supports existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs and sometimes small projects.
    • Scope of work includes technical assistance, systems checkout of new and existing installations, troubleshooting and maintenance and repair routines associated with installed Fire, Security, The installation of small or less complex projects.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
    • Ensure strict compliance to safety procedures and permit procedures as required specific refinery location.

    Skills:
    • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to anticipate and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
    • Advanced technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
    • Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
    • Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.G. Works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
    • Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

    Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of previous, relevant field service experience required.
    • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred:
      • Electronic
      • Fire Alarm & Life Safety
      • Building Automation.

    Certifications:

    Texas Security Installation License, Transportation Workers Identification Credentials (TWIC), Basic Plus
    Other beneficial certifications would include:  OSHA 10 or 30, HASC, ISTC, TCASC, Lenel, Softwarehouse, Milestone, Genetech, Cisco, Allertus, Pelco
